Dixi was founded in 1992 and was initially a producer of advertisement videos for Russian TV channels. In 1994 Dixi started producing television shows and films and has since produced a number of award-winning shows and series. Its political satire show Puppets (Kukly) became a controversial success, and subsequently, an icon of independent Russian television and a key show for NTV, the first independent TV channel in Russia.

In the late 1990s Dixi began to specialise in documentaries and has produced 69 factual films in the last ten years. The company has also produced several successful entertainment shows, including the award winning Surprise Surprise (Channel 1) and Sesame Street (CTC).

In recent years, Dixi has branched out into television drama series, its greatest breakthrough being the police series Glughar (NTV) which became the most watched TV show on Russian television two years in a row, later spinning off into a number of new series.

Today, Dixi is considered to be one of Russia’s leading scripted content producers.
