Founded in 1996, The Comedy Unit produces award-winning scripted comedy and entertainment programmes for broadcast television, radio, new media and theatre. The company is renowned for creating and delivering high-quality programmes to large audiences whilst simultaneously taking the time to develop and nurture future performing and writing talent.

The company is one of the top comedy production companies in the UK, having earned 7 Rose D’Or nominations, a range of BAFTAs, 3 Royal Television Society awards and several other nominations and industry accolades. The core creative team features writers, performers, script editors, producers and researchers, all of whom have a love of comedy and a passionate interest in all things funny.

The Comedy Unit is based in Glasgow city centre and several productions, including their single camera sitcom and sketch series, are produced out of their own studios in nearby Maryhill.  The studio is also available for hire.
