In October 2008, Yellow Bird launched its new subsidiary Yellow Bird Pictures, based in Munich. The start up is a joint venture between Yellow Bird and Oliver Schündler, who runs the company as Managing Partner. Prior to this, Oliver Schündler was head of Bavaria Media Television, the international unit of one of Germany's largest production groups.

Yellow Bird Pictures projects are based on original ideas, successful international formats and books.

The company focuses on TV fiction and feature films for the German speaking market.
