Marathon Images

Headed by Pascal Breton, Marathon Images produces French fiction drama series, predominantly for prime-time and access prime-time broadcast and is, along with GTV, the cornerstone for drama production within Zodiak France. Formerly part of the Marathon Group, it is now one of the largest companies within Zodiak France, which also consists of Marathon Media, Télé Images Productions, GTV, Adventure Line Productions, KM and Mona Lisa, all of which are now French subsidiaries of Zodiak Media.

Founded in 1990, the company has acquired unique experience in the area of long-running series. St-Tropez, which ran to 480 one-hour episodes, is the most widely exported French series in the world. Other titles to note are the daily series Sisterhood and Paris Secrets, prime-time mini-series Dolmen, the top-rated show on TF1 in 2005 and Secrets, which gave M6 its best advertising revenue in 2007.

In 2007, Marathon welcomed upcoming producers Yann Chassard and Stéphane Moatti. The company has since produced Married to the Job, a short comedy series, and A Man’s World, a 90 minute comedy, both for M6, and more recently Mystery at the Moulin Rouge, a TV movie that ranked third among France 2’s best drama ratings in 2011 and featured in the top 10 drama ratings across all channels.

In 2011, Yann Chassard is producing Les Jolies Colonies de Vacances, a 6 x 52’ comedy series for TF1 to be shot from July to November in La Rochelle (co-produced with Stéphane Moatti) and Police Instructor, an 8 x 52’ series for TF1.

Marathon Images is also developing ambitious international co-productions led by Pascal Breton and Benoît Runel, including Versailles, a big-budget co-production with Capa Drama for Canal +.

Programmes produced by Marathon Images are distributed internationally by Zodiak Rights.
