De Agostini Group
De Agostini is a multinational financial conglomerate based on family owned private capital, controlled by the holding company De Agostini S.p.A, headquartered in Novara (Italy). Its entire share capital is owned by B&D Holding di Marco Drago & C. S.a.p.a.. Starting from its century-old publishing business, De Agostini has pursued a diversification strategy in the past ten years, to become a group active in four main sectors:

Publishing (De Agostini Editore): comprises the Group’s editorial activities, operating in 30 countries with publications in 13 languages, and organised into the following strategic business areas: Partworks, Direct Marketing, Culture, Digital De Agostini.

Media and communication (De Agostini Communications): In addition to its investment in Zodiak Media, this sector comprises the Group’s interests in the broadcasting, distribution and production of television, cinema and other media content. DeA Com holds a strategic stake in Antena 3 de Televisión, the Spanish national radio-television broadcaster listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange.

Gaming, gaming services and solutions (Lottomatica): is a leader in the gaming and services market and is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. De Agostini S.p.A. controls Lottomatica with an absolute majority share. Since 1993, Lottomatica has been the sole concessionaire for the Italian Lotto game and since 2004 for the Instant and Traditional Lotteries (Scratch & Win). The Company has built an extensive realtime, on-line distribution network, with approximately 150,000 terminals in 80,000 points of sale throughout Italy, offering also services for commercial operators and payment services. With GTech’s acquisition in 2006, Lottomatica became the biggest world player in the lotteries, gaming and services sector. US-based GTech is a leading provider of gaming and technology solutions worldwide, including the on-line gaming solutions.

Financial investments. (DeA Capital and De Agostini SpA): listed on the Milan SE, is a private equity firm with permanent capital resources focused on investments and Alternative asset management. De Agostini SpA also holds other financial investments, among which the most significant is a ca. 2,4% stake in Assicurazioni Generali, one of Europe’s largest insurers.

The group's net revenues in 2009 were EUR 4160 million, of which 44% in Italy, 35% in the rest of Europe, 21% in the rest of the world
